WELCOME TO
HEARTH KENNELS
We are currently learning how to construct a website; please bear with us. You can be sure that I will be adding a lot more to this site. When I get hold of a scanner (for the pics); this site will definitely be better looking.
Well, it’s not really a "history". Hearth kennels just started on Dec. 17, 1997; so it's pretty new. The owner of the kennel is Jose Manuel "JM" T. Castillo. It is based in the Philippines. The kennel name, Hearth came from the friendly, loving and loyal traits of the labrador breed. The name connotes a nice fireplace and a "homy" feeling (at least for the owner of the kennel) that labradors give us all.
The kennel started off with the acquisition of it’s first bitch, Kabuki of Shoreline "Isis"; out of the breeding of BIS Phil. Gr. Ch. Driftway Truffle R.O.M. (Australia) "Jack" and Reciever Classical Note "Bacci". She was born on February 26, 1996 and had an all yellow litter (1 male, 5 females) on Oct. 13, 1997 through Can. Ch. Ashstone's Rhett Butler (Canada) "Rhett" (owned by Raymond Echavez of Maplekrest Labradors); this is when the kennel was duly registered. The pups have since moved to their new homes. Although Isis has a good lineage, she never entered the show ring. The owner having very little time on his hands, really acquired Isis as a pet. She is perfectly happy staying at home; being taken on walks and playing with everyone (including the cats).
The kennel is currently awaiting the birth of Isis' second litter (also through Can. Ch. Ashstone's Rhett Butler). We were impressed (and so was Rhett's owner, Raymond) by the quality of the first litter; so we decided to do it again.
